Student Profile
The profile of a student from New Hope has qualities that promote academic rigor and the development of a set of values that lead to comprehensive training, to compete in national and international contexts. According to our philosophy, a graduate of New Hope should be able to work in an environment of freedom and respect, communicating with God, being aware that the values of life are greater than status, prestige, or material gain. We believe in the use of technology as a valuable resource. We believe the educational process in continuous individual and social learning morally, intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
It seeks the formation of individuals that are aware of the problems of their environment, so that they will participate in finding the best solutions in a framework of freedom and absolute respect for human dignity.
Methodology
Our methodological approach in the area of Spanish is eclectic, focused on humanism and constructivism, and the predominant language area is the communicative approach.
We have felt the necessity to overcome the traditional teaching model, so we have chosen technology as a curricular tool. This will led to dynamic activities, creative, interactive performances to promote meaningful learning. Thus our didactic model of education changes from a traditional model to the immersion of technology, where the learning process in done through interaction: teacher - student and technology.
Infrastructure and Supporting Material
New Hope has interactive smart boards in all classrooms with internet connection. This alternative teaching model, focuses on the use of technology as a learning tool, and allows the development of content. The objective of this approach is to reach the goals of education: knowledge, values, ideals, habits, abilities / skills, attitudes, skills that will allow them continue to develop successfully in their individual and collective lives. We include learning about multicultural heritage and customs without losing the identity of the Costa Rican culture in a globalized world.
